The Study of Essence is the first chapter in a larger artistic and philosophical investigation into the nature of truth, perception, and being. This ongoing research critiques the limitations of human cognition and explores how visual practice — particularly painting — can serve as a metaphysical method. The project unfolds through written inquiry and visual works developed in tandem, forming a dialog between thought and form. It ends with an open question, inviting the viewer to join the next phase of the search.
